Interested in lime wash? We used Romabio's Blanco White to transform the look of this brick house.
The best part about lime wash Is it's all natural. It's a slacked lime authentic mineral paint made for brick. It's artistry lies in the ability to 'wash off' the product to produce a truly timeless look.
You can see the original brick in this photo. One of the parts I adore about this brick is the different colours occuring naturally in it. We wanted that to show through after applying the lime paint.
We used a wide pig hair brush to apply the lime wash and let it sit for about an hour. Then we covered absolutely everything in plastic, took a garden hose and a sponge to 'wipe away' the product showing the original brick. You can be as creative as you want in this process with a subtle touch or a more contrasting approach.
This limewash is made from mineral-based paints that naturally adhere to brick and masonry, allowing the surface to breathe. Its eco-friendly composition ensures a long-lasting, beautiful finish that ages gracefully with time.
It's been a few years now since we applied the lime wash and you can see that it naturally patinas over time. You can mix more product at any point to give it a refresh and the best part is you can rest assured knowing your brick's integrity won't be affected in the long run. This product has also held up very well in our harsh winter climate. Only one small area under the front step has worn more than the other areas due to the snow and salt build-up.
